OPSEU LAKERIDGE HEALTHADDICTION COUNSELLOR 3COMMUNITY TREATMENT TEAMPINEWOOD CENTRETEMPORARY FULL TIME8 HOUR DAYS/EVENING SHIFTS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE) OPSEU-1900000590 .RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Pinewood Centre of Lakeridge Health is a recognized leader in an integrated system of mental health and substance use, and provides a range of services to youth and adults with substance use, concurrent disorders, and problem gambling concerns as well as services for family members.This senior counselling position will function as part of the Community Treatment Team. This senior clinical role provides leadership in direct counselling services; outreach services; clinical training, education, and consultation; research, program development and analysis; and community collaboration and system planning and coordination.This position requires a Masters Degree in the Social Sciences and registration with a professional college, as regulated.QUALIFICATIONS:*Masters Degree in Social Sciences;*registration with professional college, as regulated;*proven experience and expertise in developing and implementing professionally-oriented training sessions with health professionals regarding substance use, concurrent disorders and related issues;*extensive experience with direct service provision to the mental health and substance use population, with demonstrated experience providing service with diverse communities, and advanced application of best practices with concurrent disorders;*proven experience and expertise providing case management, individual,and group therapy;*excellent knowledge of theories of addiction, evidence-based and recovery-focused treatment models (which include CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing), substances,withdrawal management,concurrent disorders/issues,crisis intervention, and special client populations;*demonstrated confidence and experience in applying therapeutic principles to practice;*demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with client populations with complex needs and aligning systems of support to keep individuals healthy within their home community;*demonstrated commitment to client-focused, strength-based and harm reduction philosophy of care;*proven exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills;*proven ability in community development and capacity building with community partners for example with off-site community-based services, school boards and mental health systems;*proven ability to work closely with a clinical team, and independently in a manner consistent with high professional standards;*demonstrated experience in program development and analysis;*demonstrated experience in providing leadership;*exceptional presentation skills and delivery of professional trainings and facilitating workshops; and developing community partnerships;*sound knowledge and application of research designs, implementation and data analysis;*demonstrated ability to recognize and diffuse escalating or potentially violent clients;*exceptional knowledge of community resources and provincial communities of practice;*demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions in this area;*proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard;*proven good performance record and ability of maintaining this same standard;* willingness to be clinically supervised and pursue ongoing professional development;* experience working within a multidisciplinary team;* must have valid Ontario driver's license and valid vehicle insurance; and* CPIC check required.SALARY:$38.48- $44.25 PER HOURCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
