DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Patient Care Manager, and working with the Clinical Supervisor and the multi-disciplinary team, the Physiotherapist is responsible for patient assessment and the development of treatment plans. He/she documents all aspects of patient care, provides education and recommendations to patients, families and their primary care providers to support the management of their condition in keeping with best practice guidelines. He/she will perform autonomous comprehensive assessments that incorporate results of the clinical history, physical examination, imaging and standardized outcome measurement; participate in program development and evaluation and other related duties as required. The initial focus is on patients with Hip and Knee Arthritis with potential to expand to additional MSK patient populations. Travel between Lakeridge sites will be required. QUALIFICATIONS:* Licensed by the College of Physiotherapy to practice in Ontario (in good standing);* Current CPR;* Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation setting;* Completion of post graduate orthopedic course an asset;* Demonstrated experience in treating medically complex and post-surgical populations;* Clinical preceptorship/mentorship of student clinicians, preferred;* Proven ability to plan and recommend continued self-care programs for the client;* Proven ability to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;* Working knowledge of personal computers, utilizing Microsoft Office software;* Demonstrated excellent organizational, prioritization, problem-solving and case management skills;* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills and conflict management skills;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and,* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.SALARY: $33.01 - $45.76 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
