We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team. In this position you will have the opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and expertise to help us develop, implement and maintain innovative Finance practices that will meet the current and future needs of Lakeridge Health.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Senior Financial Lead; the Financial Analyst is responsible for the accounting and analysis of transactions and projects that require an understanding of health care operations, general accounting and reporting, capital asset accounting, financial modeling and the ability to operate independently and as part of a team.Responsible for performing the day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas; Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for assigned functional areas;P-Card monitoring; dealing with day to day questions/issues for all cardholders/managers; Prepare and submit weekly cheque and EFT runs for both Meditech and SAP; Maintain and create cost centres and expense object codes in SAP, change/update access for employees in SAP; T4A's - prepare list and files to send to payroll for T4A completion; Prepare and/or assist with quarterly and annual regulatory filings, HST submissions and Charity Information Return (T3010); Prepare monthly journal entries; Verify, allocate, post and reconcile financial transactions between different accounting systems and/or modules; Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations and other related accounting documents/schedules; Assist with annual external interim and year end audit by completing requested materials, preparing assigned schedules, and working directly with auditors; Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and management; Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures; Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; Provide input into department's goal setting processes; Participate in specific projects related to implementation of new systems and processes and performance improvement strategies as required by Finance Management or the Senior Management Team; Other duties as required by Manager, Director of Finance, and CFO.QUALIFICATIONS: - University degree or College diploma in finance/accounting;- Completion of or near completion of a Canadian recognized accounting designation (CPA via CA, CGA or CMA);- 3 to 5 years of related Financial Analysis work experience;- Strong analytical skills, as demonstrated with previous job responsibilities;- Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of CICA handbook and PSAB;- Experience in a healthcare setting with working knowledge of MIS Guidelines and Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards is strongly preferred;- Experience with Meditech operating system would be an asset;- Experience with SAP would be an asset;- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel software and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;- Proven to be highly self-motivated, creative and with enthusiasm for change; - Team player and able to work independently;- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;- Able to handle complexity and multiple deadlines at one time;- Responsive to time-sensitive data requests and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines;- Problem-solving/issues resolution skills with process improvement mindset;- Strong customer service skills; - Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area; and- Proven good attendance record with the capability of maintaining this same standard.
