OPSEULAKERIDGE HEALTHPHYSIOTHERAPISTINPATIENT PHYSIOTHERAPYCASUAL8 hour Days/Weekends (subject to change)Lakeridge Health Ajax/PickeringOPSEU-1800002680Reporting to the Manager of Allied Health the physiotherapist will be responsible for an inpatient caseload and medically complex, neurological, cardio-respiratory, orthopaedic and general surgical patients in an inpatient setting. The majority of patients are waiting long term care placement but will require regular reassessment and assignment to a Rehabilitation Assistant. As a key member of the team, the physiotherapist will take a role in assisting with the development of programming and best practices for these patient populations. The Physiotherapist will establish linkages and collaborative working relationships with all multidisciplinary teams to improve patient flow and continuum of care across the hospital. As part of the Corporate Rehabilitation Services, work in other areas of Lakeridge may be required as needed.Qualifications:*Licensed with the College of Physiotherapy of Ontario, Master's Degree in Physiotherapy *Member of CPA and OPA*Previous acute care experience*Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage a busy and varied caseload *A good understanding of, comfort assigning to and experience with working with a PTA required*BCLS preferred*Knowledge of the relevant profession specific and general legislation, including the Health Care Consent Act, Substitute Decision Act and Public Hospital Act*Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills*Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills with the ability to work well with patients, families and the community. *Ability to collaborate with inter-professional healthcare teams to create an interdisciplinary plan of care *Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated initiative and leadership skills*Experience in educating and training staff, family, students and volunteers*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;*Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public. *Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area*Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work recordSALARY RANGE: $33.010 - $45.760 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
