POST ACUTE CARE AND PATIENT FLOW PROGRAM
REGULAR PART TIME
12 Hour; Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends(subject to change)
Lakeridge Health Ajax/Pickering (unit transferring to Lakeirdge Health Bowmanville in Winter 2019)

CUPE 1800002498 (SUBSEQUENT)

Reporting to the Manager of Transitional Restorative Care unit, the Registered Practical Nurse will be responsible for patient care, treatment and medication. Working alongside unregulated health care providers, the duties include vital signs, physical assessment, administration of meds, IV monitoring, other patient care duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
*Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
*Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification based on the Ontario Heart and Stroke Standards
*Certification in Medication Administration from a recognized institution
*Physical Assessment and Asepsis course from a recognized institution
*Current related experience in gerontology, senior friendly care and dementia
*Familiar with GPA and Montessori
*Current adult Medical/Surgical experience
*Strong problem solving skills
*Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage a busy and varied caseload
*Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations
*Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community
*Demonstrated physical ability to perform nursing and related duties
*Ability to perform the essential duties of the position;
*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;
*Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public.

SALARY: $28.82 - $30.42 per hour

This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health.
