All terms and conditions of the non-union program will apply until the parties negotiate a new OSPEU Collective Agreement.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Patient Care Manager, and working within the multi-disciplinary team, the Physiotherapist is responsible for patient assessment and the development of treatment plans primarily providing weekend coverage on the acute care inpatient units at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, and may require some week day coverage in the Lakeridge Health Ambulatory Rehabilitation Centres (outpatient) clinics. He/she documents all aspects of patient care, actively participates in patient care meetings and maintains relevant statistics. He/she will participate in program development and evaluation and with education activities as determined by the service. Other related duties as required. Travel between Lakeridge sites may be requiredQUALIFICATIONS:* Licensed by the College of Physiotherapy to practice in Ontario (in good standing);* Current CPR;* Proven ability to plan and recommend continued self-care programs for the client;* Proven ability to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;* Working knowledge of personal computers, utilizing Microsoft Office software;* Demonstrated excellent organizational, prioritization, problem-solving and case management skills;* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a family focused environment;* Proven experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting;* Demonstrated understanding of patient flow and utilization strategies and the physiotherapist role in discharge planning and optimizing patient status for returning home;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area; and* Proven good attendance with the capability of maintaining the same standardSALARY RANGE: $38.899 - $44.855 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
