In this position you will have the opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and expertise to help us develop, implement and maintain innovative Engineering practices that will meet the current and future needs of Lakeridge Health.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direct supervision of the Chief Operating Engineer/Manager Engineering and CUP, and in regulatory compliance with the Technical Standards & Safety Act 2000 and Ontario Regulation 219/01, the Second Class Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance and control of the Steam Generators and Auxiliary Equipment as well as the supervision of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment through the Building Automation System.QUALIFICATIONS:*Valid Ontario Second Class Stationary Engineer Certificate;*Proven experience as a Stationary Engineer;*Strong knowledge of the operation, maintenance and control of steam generator and Power Plant auxiliary equipment, including operation, maintenance and control of heating ventilation, and air conditioning equipment;*Experience with a Building Automation System;*Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, deal with immediate response situations and constant interruptions, and make responsible decisions within the limits defined by the technical standards or job practices;*Excellent verbal and written communication skills;*Familiarity with Microsoft Office software;*Physically able to work in varying environments, for example where temperatures may be excessively cold or hot while performing the essential duties of operation and maintenance; *Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area; and*Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.SALARY: $31.84 - $32.31 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Lakeridge Health thanks all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.If you are qualified for the above position, please apply online:https://careers.lakeridgehealth.on.caThe terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the CUPE Bargaining Unit.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
