Non-UnionLAKERIDGE HEALTHTitle: Director, Health InformationProgram: Health Information ManagementStatus: Full TimeLocation: Lakeridge Health ChamplainSalary: $63.061 - $78.826 per hourPosting: UNEX-1800001950Position Description: Reporting to the Vice President of Finance & Information Management, the Director of Health Information leads, directs, monitors and is responsible for the successful operation and quality of all aspects of Health Information management including but not limited to Case Costing, Coding, Decision Support, Health Records, Privacy, Release of Information, Patient Registration, and Transcription.The Director supports physicians, patients, families, internal departments and external agencies by coordinating activities that ensures that data collected and reported is accurate, timely and protected. Focusing on continuous improvement and processes that enable the appropriate documentation and availability of information to make decisions, evaluate organizational and program performance and enhance patient care from collection to reporting. Job Duties & Responsibilities: * Develop and cast the vision for the Health Information program that aligns and supports the organization's Annual Business Plan (ABP);* Foster a culture of data drive decision making across the organization;* Assist in defining the ABP indicators and regular reporting on the organization's performance of the ABP priorities, goals and indicators;* Develop and implement education for physicians and clinical leadership, enabling the organization to address and plan for issues relating to Data Quality and Privacy;* Prioritize work within teams to ensure excellent customer service is provided to internal and external stakeholders and all deadlines are adhered to;* Monitor and focus on improvement ensuring the integrity and quality of coding and documentation;* Monitor and focus on clinical information improvement, constantly striving for information that is accurate timely and relevant to drive better patient care and funding results;* Build strong partnerships with CELHIN, the Ministry, other hospitals and internal leaders to meet objectives;* Lead and focus team efforts in data gathering and analysis, interpretation, process design and formulation conclusions and recommendations;* Ensures standardization of storage, content and retrieval of information across all settings of care; * Ensures the appropriate policies and procedures are developed monitored and refreshed as required;* Ensures goals and performance targets are linked to LH strategic directions;* Organizes and directs the operation of the departments in the portfolio to maintain legal and customer requirements; * Direct financial and human resources by: planning, hiring, conducting performance discussions, managing a broad range of employee relations matters; managing material resources; and,* Other duties as required.Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in health related discipline, Master's degree is an asset;* Minimum 5 years reporting and analytics experience in a healthcare environment;* Experience leading teams;* Excellent communication skills;* Experience in performance management and analytics;* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills;* Comprehensive understanding of health data in Ontario, specifically data required for Health System Funding Reform (including the Health Based Allocation Model and Quality Based Procedures);* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
