evaluation and architecture of clinical processes, workflows, and solutions supported by hospital information systems; facilitation of communication between clinical end users, information technology experts, and system/technical experts; participation in multidisciplinary teams advancing the role of information technology in supporting and enabling improvements in quality, efficiency, and safety of care.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITES*Lead the design, training, implementation, evaluation, maintenance, and evolution of processes, workflows, and structures to realize the value of clinical information systems in all clinical areas; *Assess clinical user needs, and generate system requirements based on those needs by engaging key stakeholders, analyzing workflows and processes;*Develop proposals and assess electronic solutions for clinical requirements, through iterative engagement with key stakeholders, and configuration of workflows; *Lead and support clinical and IT teams in the configuration and use of standardized documentation, integrated clinical alerts, and decision support tools;*Promote the standardization of care to advance the quality of patient care; *Promote an information and evidence-based culture informed by data collection and analytics;*Advance the utilization of clinical informatics best practices and adoption of Clinical Information Systems and applications; Work with clinical teams to eliminate barriers to adoption;*Lead clinical system project teams in the implementation of applications; *Assist in ongoing support of current applications including tracking, implementing, or facilitating change requests to correct or enhance information systems/applications; *Develop education plans, facilitate training, and support clinical users;*Design and maintain training tools and materials;*Develop and maintain policies and procedures pertaining to the use of clinical information system applications;*Perform audits, custom reports, and data analysis to identify areas for qualify improvement and efficiency as it relates to clinical information systems and workflows;*Work with Leadership, IT, Interprofessional Practice (IPP), Health Information Management (HIM) and the decision support unit (DSU) to capture data, and develop metrics, reports, and analytics applicable to clinical care activities;*knowledge of designing inter-disciplinary clinical processes to improve efficiency and patient care;*Demonstrates knowledge in implementing large scale projects, preferably deployment of a clinical information system;*knowledge of project management, change management and adult learning principles and methodologies;*Understanding of the architecture of the various data sources (data interrelationship, data gaps and dependencies) among the various health information systems both internal and external to the hospital (e.g. Electronic health records, order entry, clinical applications, decision support, data warehouse, registries, reporting bodies);*Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the regulatory requirements, standards, policies, principles and guidelines related to the management of health information;*working knowledge of information technology concepts and components (e.g., networks, storage devices, operating systems, information retrieval, data warehousing, applications, firewalls, etc.).*superior knowledge of health information best practices (e.g. quality management systems, testing, continuity, risk mitigation, data security and incident management).*Demonstrates understanding of clinical concepts, terminology, clinical care processes, technologies, and workflows.*Demonstrates knowledge of indicators and metrics evaluated in the Canadian healthcare system, and preferably those used in Ontario (e.g. CIHI reporting, HSMR, QBP, Discharge Abstract Database).*proficiency with use of Microsoft Office suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.*Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in use of a Clinical Information System, and willingness and ability to develop expert level skills in a new Clinical Information System;*Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with multidisciplinary groups;*effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver effective and persuasive presentations for a group;*Ability to be flexible to function in a dynamic environment subject to changes in schedules and priorities;*Displays strong initiative, establishing personal goals and taking responsibility for meeting them within defined timeline;*Commitment to the organization's mission, vision and values.QUALIFICATIONS:*College Diploma or University Degree in a Regulated Health Care Profession*Current registration in good standing with regulatory body*Health Informatics Certificate, or equivalent experience*LEAN value stream mapping, LEAN yellow/green belt or equivalent experience in Process mapping.*Minimum three years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting;*Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in Clinical informatics*Experience building and designing clinical workflow processes within an HIS.*Experience in educational course design, teaching/training and implementation.*Demonstrated proficiency with all listed competencies Preferred Qualifications" Master's degree" Project Management experience/certification is an assetOther requirements" Ability to travel from site to site;" Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining the same Salary: $34.591- $ 46.259CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
