ONALAKERIDGE HEALTHREGISTERED NURSECRISIS INTERVENTION TEAMREGULAR PART-TIMEDays/Evenings/Nights/Weekends; 8 & 12 hour shifts (subject to change)LAKERIDGE HEALTH OSHAWAONA-1800001516DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Participating as a member of the Crisis Intervention Team, the Registered Nurse, CIT, is responsible for using the nursing process in providing crisis intervention and psychiatric assessment for psychologically/emotionally disturbed patients. As an individual practitioner, you are required to maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice and maintain nursing records.QUALIFICATIONS:* Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);* Current BCLS;* Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO;* Certification in Mental Health with the CNA;* Successful completion of a Non-violent Crisis Intervention Program;* Current advanced psychiatric nursing experience related to crisis intervention;* Five years current acute psychiatric experience;* Demonstrated knowledge in theories of personality, personality change, psychiatric assessment and treatment models;* Proven to have excellent knowledge of psychiatric medication options;* Proven ability to have excellent interviewing, assessment, and communication skills;* Proven knowledge of Community Mental Health Resources;* Demonstrated commitment to patient focused philosophy of care in a non-judgemental manner;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area;* Demonstrated strong organizational, prioritization, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard; and* BScN is asset.SALARY: $31.210 - $46.110 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified ONA staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
