Physician AssistantLAKERIDGE HEALTHPhysician Assistant, 4 EastSurgical Program - Orthopedic Division Full Time 8 Hour Day and Evening shift schedule (Subject to change)Ajax Pickering HospitalUNEX-1800000809POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Physician Assistant (PA) will work with our interdisciplinary team primarily in screening, initial assessment, treatment and monitoring of patients presenting for routine procedures and urgent care needs for hip and knee arthritis and/or joint replacement surgery. The role will be focused on patient navigation and flow improvement, specifically assessing, applying standard processes, monitoring, following and implementing standard order sets. Work will be focused in the inpatient unit setting and ambulatory care clinics. In general, the physician assistant will work under the direct supervision of the physician. Their responsibilities may vary depending on the specific needs of the patient. The PA will perform physical examinations on patients, assess and evaluate medical test, blood test, and X-ray findings, communicate progress to the patient and team, monitor the patient's medical and health histories.
