ONALAKERIDGE HEALTH CORPORATIONREGISTERED NURSEPACEMAKER CLINICCASUAL PART-TIMEDays/Evenings schedule; 8 hour shifts (Subject to change)Lakeridge Health OshawaONA-1700002244DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To utilize the nursing process in the provision of patient care and be accountable for the daily operations of the Pacemaker Outpatient Clinic. To participate as a member of the Health Care Team and perform pacemaker device interrogations, testing and diagnostic interpretation. As an individual practitioner, to maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice. To maintain health records and work closely with registration staff to ensure optimizing resource and space utilization. Function as a member of a Multidisciplinary Team and develop strategies with the Patient Care Manager to enhance clinic flow and to perform other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:* Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing); * Minimum one year experience with comprehensive device management and interrogation of Pacemaker required;* Current B.C.L.S.;* Knowledge and ability to operate various industry programmers including Medtronic, Biotronic, St. Jude, Boston Scientific and Sorin;* Coronary Care Certification or equivalent of education and experience required; * Proven cardiac rhythm, arrhythmia interpretation and patient assessment skills (tested);* Proven effective organizational, critical-thinking, time-management, problem-solving and teaching skills;* Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills;* Proven ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;* Able to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids; * Proven ability to assume a leadership/charge role;* Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CON;* CNA Certification in Critical Care, IHBRE Certification, ACLS an asset;* B.Sc.N preferred;* Demonstrated an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education sessions;* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.SALARY: $32.21 - $46.11 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified ONA staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
