Position Summary: Reporting to the Director, Capital Planning & Development, the Manager, Capital Planning will manage all aspects of the ongoing master planning, functional programming, and over-see space planning and lease management. The position will provide strategic planning, operational leadership, decision-making support, as well as research and analysis for programs planned for Lakeridge Health.
Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Establishes and coordinates the implementation of the processes/procedures required to prepare/update the Master Plan/Capital Plan to reflect changes in the Clinical Services Plan, other program pressures, technology trends, evidence based facility design, alternative futures and strategic investment, with the assistance of external consultants as may be required;* Establishes and implements functional programming procedures in conformance with the MoHLTC Capital Planning Manual with the assistance of external consultants as may be necessary;* Prepares functional programs in consultation with clinical/non-clinical users as required for 'small' projects;* Manages the implementation of and ongoing revisions to the Space Management Policy and ensures the maintenance of the space management database;* Ensures the establishment and implementation of a tracking system that will identify space available, space requested and space requests not fulfilled;* Determines, in consultation with the LH Communications staff, the information and communication needs of the stakeholders - who needs what information, when they need it and how it will be given to them - resulting in the preparation of a communications plan for the Capital Plan;* Ensures that a robust document management system is established and maintained for master planning and space planning and that it complies with all requirements of LH Records Management and MoHLTC Capital Planning Process;* Implements risk management control procedures, develop responses to identified risks;* Determines which risks are likely to affect for master planning, furniture and equipment planning and space planning activities and evaluates the likelihood of such risk;* Other duties as required.
Qualifications: * Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or similar field of study and/or a combination of education and work experience that provides skills necessary to successfully complete the work;* Master's Degree in Business Administration / Heath Sciences is preferred; * Minimum five (5) years recent, progressive experience in the health care sector. * Related experience/knowledge of health care capital planning projects an asset;* Previous involvement in equipment planning, master planning and /space planning of large complex health care facilities; * Knowledge of hospital organization and health care delivery system an asset;* Strong understanding of strategic and program planning processes;* General knowledge of furniture and equipment / space planning of large complex health care facilities;* Strong leadership skills to achieve organizational goals; communicates with and motivates a team to achieve results;* Strong facilitating skills along with above average team building and negotiation skills to resolve conflict;* Strong ability to exercise a high degree of judgement, initiative and decision making often with sever time, financial and political pressures;* Excellent organizational and time management skills required to adjust to and meet unpredictable deadlines or changing priorities;* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with medical / administrative staff at various levels at LH and consulting professionals;* Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, and MS Power Point;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust; and,* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions.
