ONAClinical Informatics SpecialistClinical InformaticsFull Time8 hour Days (Subject to change)Lakeridge Health OshawaONA 1600000835Duties and Responsibilities:The CI Specialist provides clinical subject matter expertise at all stages of the system lifecycle as a key member of a project or operational team. The CI Specialist serves as a liaison between the clinical areas and IT, and accurately and promptly analyzes, prioritizes and "translates" user needs and requests related to clinical information systems. He/she facilitates communication amongst large groups of interdisciplinary end users, while working collaboratively and directly with the technical experts and/or vendors. The CI Specialist may also be assigned primary or supportive responsibilities to ensure workload capture, auditing/validation as well as backup support to the CI Education/implementation Specialist. Qualifications:" Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing)" Bachelor's Degree preferred" Health Informatics Certificate, or equivalent" LEAN value stream mapping, LEAN yellow/green belt or Process mapping course" Minimum three years clinical experience in an acute hospital setting;" Minimum of 3 years of Clinical informatics experience" Experience building and designing clinical workflow processes within Meditech or other Clinical information system" Demonstrated knowledge of Meditech Clinical Modules (or another clinical information system)" Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)" MIS guidelines level 1, knowledge of CIHI clinical data sets" Educational preparation and demonstrated proficiency in educational/course design and implementation/teaching" Demonstrated proficiency with all COACH informatics role competencies (Canada's Health Informatics Society)" Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions;" Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.SALARY: $31.02 to $44.84 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified ONA staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
