Job Summary:The role of the Student is to assist with the lifecycle management of end user computing and printing assets through the deployment of new devices. Supporting the IT systems by assisting end users in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues. Working closely with Service Desk and other IT staff, the Students play a helpful role in the IT support model.Job Duties:Contribute to creating a safe and health for patients, staff and others working in compliance with the hospital code of conduct and the provisions of health and safety policies and legislationWorks collaboratively with the IT team to complete deploy new end user computing and printing devices throughout the organization.Perform routine checks of IT assets (hardware / software) in the data center and end user computing environmentComplete moves and deploy new IT assets as a part of the lifecycle management managing the lifecycle for end user computing devicesPrepare and deliver training to end users on new IT systems and enhancementsParticipate as a technical resource for IT projectsCoordinate with external vendors for required support on hardware and softwarePrepare documentation and learning material for co-workers in the departmentOther duties as requiredRequirements:Community College Diploma in Computer Systems or equivalentStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical items in a user friendly way that non-technical persons can understandStrong analytical skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing prioritiesSuperior customer service orientationProven knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft office products; knowledge of Meditech is an assetKnowledge and experience with routers, switches and networking basicsKnowledge and experience with Microsoft Domain ServicesHighly self-motivated and directedA+ hardware certification Valid driver's license and use of car during work hoursSalary: $16.14 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
