CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHCLERK - DIET OFFICENUTRITION SERVICESREGULAR PART TIMEDays/Evenings/Weekends; 8 hour shifts; Subject to changeLakeridge Health OshawaSALARY: $24.62- $25.74 per hourCUPE-2200003982DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Nutritional information processing by organization of work load; directing nutritional information or inquires to the appropriate source; running/printing patient menu tickets; tube feeding reports; current diet lists; diet changes; nourishment sheets and meal tallies; and discharge lists. Some assembly of patient trays (if necessary). Inputting of patient preference tool lists, supplements and nourishments. Responding to Registered Dietitian enquiries via phone calls and computerized messages. Continual communication with nursing units regarding diet, texture and allergy conflicts; printing discharge lists and some assembly of meal trays. Implementing necessary follow up to maintain established procedures and the high standards of the Department. Other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:*Minimum grade 12 education;*Working knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition required (tested)*Food Handler's training and certification;*Knowledge of sanitation and safety awareness with the ability to practice these principles;*Knowledge of dietetic medical terminology (tested);*Proficient at an intermediate level utilizing MS Word and Excel (tested);*Accurate keyboarding skills (30 wpm, tested);*Meditech experience with knowledge of OE Nursing and Admissions modules;*Effective communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to interact with the public, patients, and all levels of staff;*Effective organization and prioritization skills;*Proven adherence to strict confidentiality;*Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, both independently and in a team environment;*Must be willing to accept responsibility and instructions, be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative;*Physically capable of performing the work including reaching, bending, pulling, and walking;*Previous experience in a clerical role in a Nutrition Services/Hospital setting, preferred;*Experience with CBORD nutrition application, an asset;*Must be flexible in terms of availability, able to respond to call-in requirements for all shifts; *Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;*Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area;*Proven good attendance record and the capability to maintain this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
