Position Summary
This position will support the Backbone team of the Durham Ontario Health Team (Durham OHT) to drive engagement through social media, internal and external websites in support of Durham OHT strategic priorities and goals.
The candidate will have the capacity to conceive and execute communication plans. They will also have a clear understanding of how social media and interactive communication platforms fit into the communications and community engagement strategy.
This candidate will have superior writing skills to support diverse project requirements and be responsible for DURHAM OHT's social media strategy. The candidate will have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative teamwork orientation, and the ability to interface effectively across all levels and partners.
On a practical level, you will
" Assist in developing content in line with the Durham OHT strategic communication plan and support the execution of those plans internally and externally.
" Help drive social media strategy and content.
" Liaise with partner and community organizations, patients, care partners, community members and staff.
" Create content for internal and external audiences.
" Assist in the co-ordination of internal and external events.
Qualifications
" Enrolled in a University degree or College diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field.
" 1 - 2 years of experience in social media, communications and/or public relations.
" Advanced computer skills and some working knowledge of MS Office suite, WiX Webhost and SharePoint.
" Some experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies and plans.
" Brand development, creative design/desktop publishing and production of print and multimedia communications experience considered an asset.
" Some experience with search engine optimization, Facebook insights and other analytics tools, preferred.
" Experience in health care or community-based settings preferred.
" Bilingualism in French/English is an asset, as is proficiency in other languages.
