Status: Full Time

8 Hour Day Shifts (subject to change)
Salary: $38.694 - $48.348

This position is open throughout Lakeridge Health commencing April 7, 2022 and closing at 11:59 p.m. on April 14, 2022.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Durham Regional Cancer Centre at Lakeridge Health is looking for an energetic self-starter to support planning and coordination of the Diagnostic Assessment Program (DAP) and Clinical Genetics Program. The Operations Coordinator will support the Patient Care Manager on several key programs and projects within the regional cancer program. The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring services are delivered with high quality, safety and consistency on a daily basis; supervising team members to ensure services are patient-centered, timely and efficient; enabling team members to coordinate and integrate services and encouraging ongoing performance improvement while maximizing the use of available resources to facilitate service excellence.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
"Oversee day-to-day operations within the DAP and Clinical Genetics clinics at the cancer centre
" Support the development and implementation of initiatives and projects with the DAP and Clinical Genetics programs.
"Provide support in planning, implementing and evaluating patient focused care and services.
" Advocate for and promote a safe work environment including participating in the development of safe work practices and innovation.
" In collaboration with the Patient Care Manager, contribute and provide feedback on the completion of performance appraisals and participate in performance management.
" Support the development of clinic and staffing schedules
" Work with the Patient Care Manager and Director to implement and evaluate operational plans based on program goals and objectives.
" Ensure the effective and appropriate utilization of resources within the program, working within budgeted resources.
" Facilitate team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
" Collaborate and liaise with internal and regional stakeholders.
" Promote excellence in customer service focusing on patient centred care.
" Demonstrate intermediate level competence in software applications including Microsoft Office and web based systems
" Ability to manage a variety of electronic databases
QUALIFICATIONS:
" Bachelor's degree in health sciences or health administration required; Masters preferred
" 3-5 years' experience in operations or project coordination;
" Knowledge of hospital organizations and health care delivery systems and experience working with diverse healthcare partners preferred;
" Experience working in oncology preferred;
" Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written;
" Strong project management skills that includes knowledge and understanding of LEAN methodology
" Strong analytical background (quantitative and qualitative analysis);
" Demonstrated intermediate level competence in software applications including Microsoft Office and web based systems;
" Strong commitment to ongoing professional development activities;

" Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area; and
" Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining the same standard.
