ONALAKERIDGE HEALTHREGISTERED NURSEPOSITIVE CARE CLINICREGULAR PART TIMEDays - 8 hour shifts (subject to change)Lakeridge Health Whitby, must be willing to travel to satellite sites in PeterboroughSALARY: $33.90 - $48.53 per hourONA - 2100002753DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Positive Care Clinic Registered Nurse works within the interdisciplinary team to provide out-patient healthcare services to individuals infected with or at risk for HIV, HCV, HBV, and other STBBIs. The RN implements engagement and re-engagement strategies for priority populations, provides evidence based informed healthcare services, leads case management discussions within the interdisciplinary team to address all aspects of healthcare service delivery and weaves principles of harm reduction into plans of care. Healthcare is provided at various locations including Lakeridge Health Whitby, the satellite clinic in Peterborough, and various outreach locations in the Durham region and catchment area. Travel to these areas is requiredQUALIFICATIONS:*Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario;*Current BCLS;*Recent related clinical experience working with HIV and HCV including outreach locations;*Naloxone training required*RNAO, CAHN, CANAC, ANAC membership preferred;*BsCN preferred;*Sound knowledge and application of nursing skills as listed in the C.N.O "Standards of Nursing Practice";*Demonstrated commitment to continuing education related to the role and willingness to participate in ongoing investigator driven research;*Excellent venipuncture, wound management, patient assessment and pain management skills;*Confidence providing care focused on biopsychosocial perspective of addiction, mental health, process of recovery and knowledge of all other concomitant risks and modes of transmission for various STBBIs;*Effective communication and interpersonal skills and strong teaching skills*Strong problem solving, prioritization and critical thinking skills with the ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;*Able to work autonomously as well as within the interdisciplinary team*Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position;*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;*Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular inservice education in this area;*Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard; *Must have a satisfactory performance recordCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) .
