ONALAKERIDGE HEALTHREGISTERED NURSE SURGICAL PROGRAMSURGICAL SUITE STAFFING RESOURCE TEAMFULL-TIME x88 HOURS DAYS/EVENINGS/WEEKENDS/ON-CALL SHIFTS ;(Subject to change)LAKERIDGE HEALTH OSHAWA with cross site resposbilites to the Ajax/Pickering site.SALARY $33.90 - $48.53 per hourONA- 2100002736DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Surgical Suite Staffing Resource Team Nurse provides quality patient care as part of the interdisciplinary team in multiple Operating Rooms across Lakeridge Health locations. Responsibilities include immediate pre-operative, intraoperative and immediate post-operative care for surgical procedures, assisting physicians, practicing in a sterile environment, completing accurate and thorough documentation, maintaining specialized instruments and other related nursing duties. As an individual practitioner, the Registered Nurse maintains competence and professionalism relevant to current practice.QUALIFICATIONS:* Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario* Competent to perform CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level* Post graduate Perioperative Course from a recognized institute or equivalent experience* Minimum 2 years' current Perioperative experience including Paediatric* Perioperative certification -CPN ( c ) - preferred* Knowledge of ORNAC standards of practice* Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations* Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community* Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement* Ability to perform the essential duties of the position* Must have satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard;CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) .
