CUPE LAKERIDGE HEALTHREGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE STAFFING RESOURCE TEAMREGULAR FULL TIMEThe current schedule is DDNN; 12 hour shifts (subject to change)POSITIONS AVAILABLE AT ALL SITES SALARY RANGE: $29.76 - $31.42 per hourNOTE: There is an expectation that the successful candidate has the ability to move to the specified sites CUPE-2100000424DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to Manager of Staffing Resource Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for personal patient care, vital signs, physical assessment, administration of medications, monitoring IV's, monitoring telemetry, setting up medical equipment as appropriate and other duties as assigned. The RPN will participate as a member of the Resource Pool, Multidisciplinary Team and the Nursing Team corporate wide for the Medical/Surgical Areas and the Post-Acute Speciality Services. As an individual practitioner, the nurse will maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice. The nurse will be responsible for maintaining the health record according to hospital policy, procedure and standards.QUALIFICATIONS:*Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);*Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college;*Current B.C.L.S. certificate;*Recent medical-surgical experience and evidence of recent related continuing education*Coronary Care 1 course from a recognized institution, or agreement to complete the course within 6 months of hire. *Demonstrated self-motivation regarding continuing education in areas of patient assessment, patient education, leadership and related Clinical Specialties;*Demonstrated ability to adapt to change in patient care assignments, patient care units and hospital sites within the Corporation;*Ability to lift, turn, transfer patients with the use of mechanical lifts;*Demonstrated skills in providing patient education and sharing knowledge of expected outcomes and care. *Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations. *Ability to perform the essential duties of the position.*Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community. *Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public. *Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participation in regular in service education sessions in this area; and*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;*Demonstrated pattern of good attendance *Must have a satisfactory performance recordCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
